Mai cried out, "Hiku! What was that?"
"It looks like something just crashed into the house." He replied.
Aya sneers, "Not only that, but it brought friends."
"Do you think the Stalkers followed us?" Mai asked with a shrill.
Hiku looks at Mai, who shakes off her fear and looks back at Hiku with a nod, "It doesn't matter, we'll take care of whatever it is, go find out what exactly happened over there."
Shinjo cocks a brow, "Are you up to it?"
"The Defender's at full charge and Mai is here. We're hard to stop. If you have doubts, see for your self. Come Mai!"
Mai nods as the pair intersected the enemies, they looked different than the Stalkers. Hiku looked to her, "Get somewhere safe and let's get this started."
Mai hides behind the egde of a rose bush and closes her eyes, focusing, as Hiku drew the Defender. The Defender began to glow with a power that dwarfed the energy of it's last use. Mai's presence could be felt around Hiku, as her energy began to release the Defender's full ability.
Hiku smirks as he takes a good look at his enemies. They were different than the Stalkers seen before. They were communicating with one another, and they were more human-like than ogre. "This is more like it. These aren't the idiotic Stalkers, whoever sent them must be getting serious. Come Savangers....I have a message for your boss."
Hiku struck the ground with an intense force, sending a shock wave along the ground, knocking the beasts straight off their feet. One managed to jump past the strike and charged at Hiku, which would be it's last mistake. Hiku ducked under his claw, jumping upward while slicing his sword, tearing through the creature's torso. The moment his blade passed through it's body, it disappeared, only smoke remained, suggesting that it had been completely vaporized.
Hiku drew the blade close to him, running his hand along the flat side of the blade. He then quickly made a few swings, releasing strange arches of light, which flew in a half circle from the point of the slash, making its mark through two more of the beasts, with similar results as the first. The first three were eliminated, however, the final three appeared far stronger and smarter. It wouldn't be quite so easy to take them out, even with the Defender at full power. All Hiku could do was buy Aya and Shinjo time to figure out what they were doing here.

Kenshin, having seen the group leave in search of Aya, went back to his room. He stretched for five minutes and then took off the bandages placed over his body. All the wounds he'd received during his final test had healed, the only one left was the one given to him by Hiku's sword.
"I should ask Mai about it, with this wound I cant move as fast as before," Kenshin thought.
He headed to check on Oren and Blade, as he was about to enter the room, he heard someone walking about in a hurried pace. Kenshin opened the door and saw Oren getting his things together, Oren sees Kenshin. "Where's Aya?!" Oren grabs Kenshin by his kendo jacket and slams him up against the wall. Oren stares at him with fierce eyes, "Where's Aya!" he demands for an answer.
Blade woke up from all the ruckus, he wasn't feeling too good from all the booze he drank last night. He got up, still drowsy, he put on his attire. He then went to see Aya, only to see she wasn't there, immediately he ran to the den area and saw Oren holding Kenshin against the wall. They were staring at each other.
"Aya is missing."
"I know." Oren said in an irritated tone.
"Where is she?" Oren asked Kenshin once again.
"I can understand Blade, he drank heavily last night, but you..."
Blade inspected his breath, it still smelled like booze. He chuckled, "That was one hell of a night."
"And me, what!" Oren barked at Kenshin, slamming him against the wall again.
"You're too focused on Aya to notice your other companions are not here as well." Oren looked around too see what he was talking about. He let go of Kenshin, "Sorry."
"They went to buy more medicine for Mai." He told them, a lie of course, but it was to keep them from running off in search of Aya.
"I see. You should speak up sooner."
Kenshin shook his head, "Don't jump to conclusions. You two should get something to eat in the meantime." Oren had a troubled look on his face. "Don't worry, Aya is fine now." Kenshin walked back to his room.
He thought about the lie and leaped out the window to buy more medicine for Mai. He walked store to store gathering the ingredients. After he had them all, he went to a small business stand that sold all kinds of fruit. As he walked in, the girl working there turned around and said, "Oh, its you!" As she blushed.
Kenshin smiled, "I see you took my advice and got yourself a good job."
"Y..yeah, thank you."
He nodded and ordered a mango fruit covered with a small amount of salt and lemon juice. As he ate, he talked with the girl. After he was done, he got up and took her hand. "Lets go."
They walked for five minutes, finally arriving at the house Kenshin first visited when he arrived at Valencia a few days ago. He knocked on the door, not expecting anyone, just as the man answered the door.
"Why, if it isn't Kenshin. What brings you back here so soon? Its not the sword is it?"
"No, but I do need a big favor from you and your wife."
"Oh, and what might that be?"
"I need you to take care of this girl for me, I'm currently with a group and I wont be able to take care of her if we leave Valencia."
"I see. Well it wont be a problem, my boy. Where is she by the way?" He said while scratching his head.
Elena walked out from behind Kenshin. "Hello," she said softly.
"This is Elena."
"Welcome Elena, my name is Hector and this is my wife, Tera."
"Heres some money, it should be enough for about a year." He said, hanging Hector a medium sized bag.
Kenshin turned around and faced Elena, "Ill come back in less than a year, this couple will take good care of you. I gave Hector enough money for your stay, so you wont have to work during my absence." He hugged her, then kissed her on the forehead.
Elena blushed, "Ill be waiting for you, Kenshin." She walked into her new home.
"I'll be going now."
"We'll take good care of her, don't worry about a thing."
"Thank you."
Kenshin waved good bye to Elena, as she waved good bye to him, with teary eyes.
As he ran back to the inn, he thought about his long absence from the inn, running faster. In the meantime, Blade and Oren were blowing smoke left and right. "Where the hell did Kenshin go?" Blade asked.
"Aya and the others aren't back yet either." Oren moaned.
"Lets go look for them."
Both of them started to head outside the inn. As they walked outside, they heard a thud coming from the roof. "Where are you two going?"
"To look for the others." Blade retorted.
"They'll be here soon." Kenshin said calmly.
"They've been gone for a long time, I'm worried about Aya."
"She's with Shinjo, Hiku, and Mai she'll be fine."
Oren groaned, but said nothing else as he went back inside the inn, Blade stubbornly decided to go off in search of something entertaining to do.
"I tried." Kenshin said, sitting on the roof, so that he would be able to give the medicine to Mai as soon as they returned.

Aya ran into the abandoned house, followed by Shinjo. She spots a young man on the floor, bleeding. He looks to have crashed directly through the wall.
"Hey, are you alright?" Aya said as she runs over, dropping down to check on him.
"He isn't bleeding too badly..." Shinjo said as he peered out the hole in the wall. "Oh shit! The Stalkers did follow us!" He exclaimed with an irritated tone.
"What?? Oren isn't with us, so why in the hell would they follow?" Aya asked.
"I don't know, but we need to hurry. Hiku said the Defender is fully charged, but these aren't the lower ranking Stalkers, either, these are Savangers." Shinjo said, while turning back to Aya.
"His wounds are internal, he has a few broken ribs..." Aya felt the man's pulse, then leaned closer to his face to hear his breathing, Shinjo twitched at her closeness to the man. Aya then leaned down and put her ear to his chest. "...His lungs have been punctured. He'll drown in his own blood if we don't do something for him." Aya said quickly.
"Aya.." Shinjo said while crouching down. "I know you want to help him, but we have no idea who this guy is, it could be a trap. We don't know why the Stalkers came here after us, but he could be part of it." He said in a calm tone to her. Aya looked back down, disappointed. "Aya, I don't want you to get hurt again." Aya smiled a little at his response. She had been thinking about him quite a bit lately...
Aya placed her hand over the young man's forehead, her hand resonating a light aura. "This man...has a good soul. He's safe to take with us for now, at least to treat his wounds." Shinjo sighed. He lifted up the young man as Aya headed for the door.
"Thanks Shinjo." Aya said with a smile.
Aya and Shinjo ran over to the side of the house to alert Hiku.

Hiku, seeing Shinjo and Aya headed their way, says, "They're done...Mai let's finish this quickly and split."
Mai nods, beginning to focus more so than she did before. Two wings of solid light eventually appeared on her back, releasing lightning that would loop around Hiku, and into the Defender. Hiku spun the blade, putting it straight in front of him, the point begins to form a ball of light. It appeared Hiku and Mai were combining their energy with the Defender, whatever was about the happen wasn't going to be good for the Savangers. Hiku did a full spin, then spun around, striking the ground with full force, a pillar of light shot up at the point he struck, at a fairly high rate. The two smarter Savangers turned and fled, the lower ranking one was vaporized the moment it came into contact with the pillar. Those Savangers wouldn't be showing their hides anytime soon, even if they manage to completely outrun the shock wave of the blast.
Hiku returned the sword to it's case, as Mai's wings of light dissipated. "Okay Mai, let's meet up with them and move."
Mai nods, "Okay."

The group walked back to Valencia. The trip was not well looked upon, since they had an injured person with them now. Mai had stopped to bandage the man's wounds until they could get back to the inn. Aya found that she kept eying Mai. The strange wings of light that came from her back...was she really that much like Aya? Or so little...?
As they walked along in the afternoon sun, Shinjo carried the man over his left shoulder. White clouds littered the sky, only letting the sun peek through from time to time. Mai and Hiku seemed to be at peace for the moment, and Hiku did not seem worn out at all, Mai only looked a bit sleepy. Aya had given Mai a rose from the garden of her former home, Mai had stuck it in her hair, behind her ear. The road was made of dirt, but was fairly smoothed out.
The area was very peaceful, with a great view of the city lights from Valencia. Aya knew that she had to find a Saint that would agree to travel with them to perform the exorcism on Oren. She'd heard of one in Valencia, but it was only a rumor. There were a lot of self-proclaimed Saints running around, several of which had been murdered. Chances are that it was The Vainians, trying to prevent Oren's exorcism.
Aya frowned as she thought about Oren. She cared about him, but what was going to happen if the Vainians were to attempt The Awakening on him? He would arise with Denethor's spirit revived within him. There was no doubt that he was Denethor already, he looked exactly like him at a young age. She knew that she would have to kill Oren if he became Denethor. Aya's heart sank at the thought.
Aya's pace slowed, she had dropped back, a little behind the others. Trying to divert her thoughts, she looked up to Shinjo, carrying the injured young man. He'd never really spoken to Aya about his life, but Aya could feel a great struggle within him. His soul was nearly torn in two. Aya wanted to be able to help him somehow, but healing a wound is much easier than healing a broken heart and soul, Aya had no experience in that. Shinjo had never reached out to Aya in need of her help, she just did so willingly. She did not understand why he was still traveling with herself and Oren. She felt as if part of him was about to break, that something was wrong. Aya wanted to protect him, but she felt that his thoughts were in another place, he looked so cold and empty sometimes. Aya reached her hand out to grab his, but she stopped. Even when she ran to him earlier, he did not comfort her, Aya convinced herself that he would not want her to reach out to him. She continued walking with the group, her head slightly lowered.
They were almost to Valencia. If the Stalkers had followed them to Olanther, they would most likely know where they were staying in Valencia. They could not stay much longer. Aya would have to find a Saint soon.

Colt mumbled something in his delirium. As they were walking along an earthen path the group was fairly quiet. The silence was broken by a cool breeze every now and then. The grass to Shinjo's left gave way to the current as its form seemed to melt into the ground, only to materialize into its former state. The walk was refreshing. Shinjo's short black, spiky hair glistened in the sun. A brown shirt covered his upper torso. The sleeves torn near his elbow, Aya figured it was for agility. His black pants were normal, the stitching very modest. His boots were of a comfortable fit. Everything about his clothing said "relaxed."
Aya looked up from her thoughts as she moved toward his side. His eyes were dark brown, nothing too special. A normal person, though his expression was calm. Nothing seemed to be bothering him. Shinjo caught Aya looking at him out of the corner of his eye. He cocked an eyebrow and smiled. As their trek continued, Shinjo's light complexion gave off an almost golden hue as the sun hit the party.
While the group exchanged few words on their way, Shinjo said nothing. He was thinking of home. A small cottage with a large sweeping field around it. A family of four, his mom was in the kitchen making dinner, while his father was in town working as a scribe.
His mom walked into their garden.
"What's wrong?" she asked. Shinjo blinked and turned his head.
"What's wrong?" Mai asked. Shinjo blinked again and looked at Mai.
"Oh, I was day dreaming again. Nothing's the matter." Mai rolled her eyes and ran up to Hiku's side. She crossed her arms as Hiku looked at her. He uncrossed his just as Mai did the same thing. Looking at her with impatience Mai squinted her eyes in response.
"I'm an annoying person, my name is Mai." Hiku said sarcastically. Mai smirked.
"I'm an annoying person, my name is Hiku." Hiku gave her an evil look and turned his head to the left. Mai giggled and looked at Shinjo. He smiled in response and noticed Aya was still not responding to anyone.
"So, Aya..." Shinjo began, "...how long has it been since I met you and Oren? I can't remember." Aya looked at him with a confused look and started to think. Was it three or four? The first time the pair met him he was walking along a road much like this.
"Hey, stranger." Aya called to a young Shinjo. He turned his head and gave her a quick glance. Looking forward again, he rested his right hand on his sword's pommel. The pair continued to walk along the road as Aya questioned him again.
"Can you not speak?" Shinjo stopped and looked at Oren. Sizing him up, he didn't consider him a threat. Next was Aya, her armor and sword were a definite problem.
"I do." Shinjo said. "Can I help you with something?"
Aya looked at him and spoke. "Yeah, we're new to the area, looking for somewhere to stay, do you live around here?"
Shinjo looked at the ground. Not anymore he didn't. Glancing across his field he looked again to Aya. "No."
"Well we're looking for some supplies and the such. We were hoping to stay the night somewhere before continuing into Telium, but seems like we're out of luck."
Shinjo grinned.
"It's not funny," explained Aya.
"I know." Shinjo recalled the way to Telium.
"It's a ways from here but I've walked the path several times, I wouldn't mind showing you the way."
The trio continued on their way as the sun shone on Shinjo's face. As he squinted, Aya looked at him.
"It's been about four years." She said. "Why?"
"This road reminds me of one outside my home."
Mai overheard Shinjo and looked back at him.
"What's your home like?" She inquired. Shinjo tried to think of his home, but his memories wouldn't come to him. He had only been thinking of it a few moments ago, but now his mind was blank.
"I just remember the road." He lied. His memories materialized again. For some reason, he had a hard time telling people about his personal life. Granted he had known Oren and Aya for a while, but they only came to learn of his Berserker curse a year ago. Shinjo's airy mood came down to nothing as the sun began to set. His face reflected calmness again. Aya wondered if he only had three moods, angry, calm, and happy.

The group managed to reach the inn with no problems. Once they entered the room, Oren ran right over to Aya, yanking her in the room by her wrist. Oren was angry with her, matter of fact, Aya had never seen him so angry with her before. She waited for him to yell at her, but he didn't.
"Please, say something if you're going to leave like that, okay?" Oren said calmly to her. Aya just nodded back to him.
Kenshin came over to Mai and slid a small bag in her pocket. Mai felt the weight of the bag drag down in her shirt, she looked up at Kenshin.
"I...had to tell them you all went out for supplies." Kenshin said softly.
Mai just smiled and nodded.
Blade stretched and relaxed in his chair. "Man am I glad yall are back. Pretty boy here was getting on my nerves."
"Where's Aya?", "Where's Aya???" He mocked.
Oren's face turned red as he became irritated with Blade's mockery. Oren smirked as a tiny piece of hair on Blade's head lit on fire. Blade licks his fingers and puts out the small flame, eying Oren. He smirks at him playfully and Oren goes to sit down.
"Who is that?" Kenshin asked, looking to the young man over Shinjo's shoulder.
"I'm not sure, he was attacked by the Savangers in Olanther, apparently they followed us." Hiku said as he sat down.
Mai walked over and started digging in a bag for her other medical supplies. Shinjo carried Colt over to one of the rooms, as Aya runs up and opens the door for him. Shinjo laid Colt on the bed and stepped back as Aya moved forward and felt Colt's chest.
"His ribs are pretty bad...I may have to give him some of my blood if Mai can't heal him quickly enough.." Aya said. Shinjo didn't say anything. Aya went to turn around, but hit her leg on the side of the bed and fell forward. Shinjo was standing behind Aya, he stepped forward to catch her, grabbing onto her waist and arm as she fell on him. Aya was a bit dazed for some reason, she stayed in that position until Shinjo broke the silence.
"Are you okay?" He asked her. She looked up at him, he had the same empty look on his face as always.
Aya pushed herself off of him rather harshly. "You know...." she said, in a very deep tone, "...you're really cold sometimes." Aya walked out of the room as Mai entered. Mai saw the bland look on Aya's face as she went into the den.
"Man, you're pretty dense too." Mai said as she brought in a bowl with medical supplies.
Shinjo arched an eyebrow, "What was that?" He asked with a twitch.
"Nothing." Mai said in a playful tone.
Aya walked passed Blade as he says, "Aw hey kitten, come sit near me!" while grabbing at her hand.
Aya yanked her hand away and hopped onto the window sill. She pulled herself onto the roof with Kenshin, sitting down, releasing a much needed sigh.
Blade stood up and said "Ey, I'm hungry. How 'bout we eat?"
"That's a good idea." Hiku said.
"I'll be back in a minute." Blade said as he went downstairs. Shinjo came out of the room where he'd laid Colt, and sat down close to where Blade had been sitting.
After a while, Blade brought back food for everyone, but Kenshin and Aya did not eat, they stayed on the roof top until dusk.
Mai had gone to check on Colt again after finishing eating, he'd been healing rather well. Mai sat down next to Hiku.
"What, no more playing doctor?" Hiku asked playfully.
"No, he seems to be doing about as fine as can be expected." Mai said before taking a sip of some water.
Kenshin dropped down to the balcony, as Aya did behind him, they entered the den. Aya went directly into her room, the coldness of her face had eased a bit since speaking with Kenshin. Oren looked up to them and wondered what they'd been talking about.
Aya closed the door and changed out of the thick black attire she'd been wearing. The soft moonlight hit her skin as she changed. She noticed that she still hadn't any scars after all this time. She actually smiled a bit. Aya opened a drawstring bag and pulled out a lengthy, roman-style toga ensemble.
She pulled it on, and adjusted it, then slid on a pair of gray sandals with a slight heel. The dress was pure white, with a tiny bit of a gold trim around the edges of the bottom and sleeve edges. The neck of the dress draped gracefully across her chest. The sleeves were rather long and open, with a tied band along the middle of the upper arm. Aya picked up a small glass bottle that containing rose petals, dabbing a bit of it on her neck. The smell was very sweet, Mai had given her the bottle after she'd gotten better, when they first arrived.
Aya checked her appearance in the mirror. She hadn't done so in a while. She thought her hair looked a bit tousled, so she sat down and brushed it out. She heard a knock on the door and without looking up, she said "Come in..", while continuing to brush her hair.
Oren slowly entered the room, a bit of a surprise on his face at Aya's appearance. "You're going to see the Saint?" He asked her.
"Yes, supposedly this one's the real thing." Aya said while standing back up to check herself in the mirror. She grabbed a white semi-transparent shawl, wrapping it behind her back and draping it over her arms. It was a high honor to be able to speak with a Saint, Aya didn't want to disappoint him. Besides, she not only had to speak to him, she had to ask him to travel with the group to perform the exorcism on Oren. Aya spun around and brushed off the thigh area of her lengthy, fitted gown and asked Oren, "Do I look alright?"
Oren became flustered as he looked away, the dress was rather flattering on Aya. "I, um..." he stuttered. He stopped and looked back at her with a cool confidence. "You look very nice." he said.
Aya smiled. She walked over near him and began to pack her other clothes back into her bag. "I should be going in a moment..." she said. Oren grabbed Aya's hand, Aya looked up at him, a bit surprised.
Oren placed a ring on Aya's right index finger. It was the same star-shaped Blood Sapphire she'd seen in the store near Ghaleon's. Aya blushed a bit. Oren still held her hand and pulled Aya close to him.
"Aya...I know that you've dealt with a lot since we've been traveling together...with that man reminding you of your past...but I want you to stay with us. I need you...to protect me." He said. Aya slightly lost her smile. She raised her arms to Oren's back and hugged him.
"I'm not going anywhere, I promise." She said. She pulled away from him, "I have to go see the Saint now..."
Aya entered the den with Oren, who walked over near Mai and sat down. Blade incessantly gawked at Aya while Shinjo and Hiku had arched eyebrows by Aya's sudden change of appearance, without apparent reason.
Mai came up to her, "Ohmigosh...are those priestess robes???" She asked.
"Yeah, they are." She said with a smile. "I've arranged to speak to a Saint. I should be back in a little while." Aya said before heading to the door. The others went back to conversation, as Shinjo walked over, in front of Aya.
"You don't want someone to go with you?" Shinjo asked her.
"No, I'd rather not...with my being gone, Oren is more vulnerable to attack." Aya said.
Aya brushed a strand of her hair from her face as Shinjo noticed her new ring and twitched a bit. "Let me go with you." He said.
"No, I'm the one who's Oren's Guardian, so I can take care of this on my own." She responded.
"Aya." He said as he stepped close to her, so the others would not hear, "I have a bad feeling, please be careful." He said. His closeness made Aya uncomfortable, it was obvious, she'd nearly backed away from him when he moved near her. This made Shinjo's expression clarify, almost like an epiphany. Without another word, Aya looked down, stepping toward the door.
She glanced back at the rest of the group and headed out of the room. Blade watched as Aya exited the inn and headed out into the night to see the Saint. Kenshin still sat atop the roof again, seeing Aya walk down the pathway.
Aya held her hands together as she walked, she had a bad feeling too.

Kenshin went to see Mai about the injury Hiku's sword had given him.
"Could you check this wound?"
"Sure." She smiled and started to look at the injury. "How long have you had this cut?"
"When I met Hiku, he hit me on accident."
"So thats why it hasn't healed," she said with amazement.
"The Defender is a powerful sword, if it doesn't kill you, the wound left by it will not heal, eventually becoming infected and killing its victim."
A concerned look came over Kenshin's calm face. "Don't worry, fortunately I learned how to treat this type of wound during my travels with Hiku." Mai said.
Kenshin let out a sigh of relief. "Let me just make the medicine." Mai took out her small bag, mixing the medicine with ease, then pouring it over the wound. After a few seconds, the wound started closing, as though time was moving forward. "Pretty neat huh?"
"How?"
"It doesn't age the wound, it simply allows the healing process from the time you receive the wound to take place."
"Thank you."
"No problem." Kenshin stepped onto the balcony and back to the roof.
Mai walked over to Hiku, hitting him on the head, "Why didn't you tell me Kenshin had been injured by the Defender?"
"I forgot."
"He could have died you know."
"Yeah, good thing you're here." Mai hit him again.
"Go apologize to him."
"I don't think he minds all that much."
"But I do!"
"Fine." Hiku mumbled.
Kenshin had been stretching on the roof top. "Time to see if my body is back to normal." As he was about to head off, Hiku came out and stood on the balcony.
"Yo, Kenshin." Hiku said.
"Hmm?"
"Sorry I didn't inform you about the effects of the wound I gave you, it slipped my mind."
"I'm fine now, but thank you."
Hiku went back in and told Mai, "I told you he didn't mind."
Kenshin started to run across the roof tops of houses and buildings at an amazing speed. He ran to the other end of Valencia in under ten minutes.
"It's nice to be able to move fast again." He thought to himself.
He started to run back to the inn when he spotted Aya, walking into a building. "This must be where the priests lives." He contemplated whether he should stick around.
"So long as she doesn't see me when she gets out, I'll be fine." He thought.

Aya entered the inconspicuous building through a door of wooden beads. She entered the fore-room and looked around, there was a small fountain on the left. Aya found the tranquility of the atmosphere to be soothing.
A young priest stepped forward and bowed to Aya. Aya slowly bowed back to the young man. He was fairly young, attractive, in his early twenties. His hair was long and a light blue, down to his shoulder blades, tied in the back. He had beautiful gray eyes like Kenshin, his frame was similar to Oren, only this man was taller.
"My name is Rowan, please, Saint Amon is waiting for you." The young man said to her, as he entered the larger part of the building. The inside of the building was beautiful, with large plants and flowers littering the room, around a small man-made pond. There was even a small arched bridge over the pond, leading to the other side.
Aya looked around, a bit in awe of the building's beauty. The building was so old and ragged from the outside, you'd never guess that it would have this interior, much less be the home of a Saint. They walked to the end of a white mat, when Rowan turned to Aya.
"Please, wait here." He said calmly as he entered the room. Aya stood outside for a moment. She felt badly for saying Shinjo was cold earlier, she smiled and decided to apologize to him when she got back. Rowan emerged from the room, leaving the door open.
"Please, enter Miss Aya." He said, as he motioned his hand to the doorway.
Aya bowed, "Thank you." She said, as she entered the room.
The room was fairly small, and dimly lit by candles, the light fragrance of incense filled the air. It had been a long time since she'd seen a real Saint. Aya recalled sitting out near the small waterfall where she'd been injured earlier, it was the same place that a Saint announced her as a Guardian. Aya snapped out of it as she heard a chime. The Saint, Amon, was standing before her. He was an elderly man, probably in his eighties, at least. His thin, narrowed eyes showed great wisdom, his frame slightly hunched over.
"Please, come in child." He said to her, extended his arm and tilting the palm of his hand out to take hers.
Aya gave the old man her hand as he walked her over to the spot where they would sit. The old man sat indian-style on the large blue pillow, and Aya sat with her legs to her side on a large gray pillow.
"I will make my leave now sir." Rowan said as he bowed. "I shall return shortly with your needs." He said before leaving.
"What can I do for you my dear?" The old man said calmly.
"Saint Amon...the reason I have come to see you today... I have a rather strange question to ask of you." Aya said.
The Saint's eyes narrowed a bit, as he said "What is it my dear?"
Back at the inn, the group sat around in conversation. Shinjo stood up and said "I need some air...", leaving the room, he walked outside the main doors of the inn. It was cold out, he could see his breath when just normally breathing. Blade came down as well, standing in the doorway of the inn as Shinjo sat in a chair outside.
"I have a bad feeling." Shinjo said, recognizing Blade's arrival.
"Hmm, what about?" He asked.
"I don't know." He said. Suddenly, his eyes perked a bit. Shinjo stood up, stepping away from the inn, looking up toward the roof. "Huh.. Kenshin has gone." He said. Blade walked over and noticed this as well.
"Yeah, but that guy runs off whenever he wants to.." Blade said. He saw a blank look on Shinjo's face. "Well hey, why don't ya come back in and have a beer with me?" He said while patting Shinjo on the shoulder. "And enjoy some lady company!" He said, as he went in the bar and grabbed a bar maid by the arm. Shinjo could hear him sweet talking the girl as they went back upstairs. Shinjo sat back down and stared off at the ground. He had that blank look in his eyes again. A small white blur passed in front of his face. His eyes perked up again, as a snowflake lands on the back of his hand. It disintegrates into a small droplet of water. Shinjo looks up to see snow fully falling now.
Hiku looks out the window of the room, over Oren and Mai's laughter. He could see the snow falling outside. Oren and Mai look over and notice now as well.
"Snow!" Mai exclaims with a cheerful tone as she scurries to the window.
Shinjo still looks up into the snowy sky.
"I need a Saint that can perform an exorcism of a powerful demon...." Aya said softly.
The Saint looked at her without flinching. "What demon is this my dear, you seem troubled." He said in a concerned tone.
"His name is Oren...he is the adopted son of Kalinin Dumore, from Hallow's Town." She said. "It was discovered when Oren was young, that he was the fiftieth born of the blood of Denethor...."
This sparked the old man's interest. "Go on..." he said.
"I was hired to be Oren's Guardian by his adoptive father four years ago...and I'm sure you're aware that the 50th blood of Denethor is..."
"Denethor himself reincarnated." The Saint said. You could see shock in Aya's eyes when the Saint finished her sentence. "My word girl...you want to exorcise the soul of Denethor...that will take much time and patience...."
"Please..." Aya said, bowing her head to her hands. "He is well aware the risk he takes by opting for an exoricism...but if we do not find a Saint that is willing to perform an exorcism of Denethor's spirit on the Altar in Faradin, then he will surely be.......he will be..." Aya stopped. She felt a bit light headed. It was probably just the fragrance from the incense, she hadn't been around them in a while. "He will be submitted to The Awakening...where the Vainians will revive Denethor's sleeping soul within him." Aya said.
"Hmm..." the Saint said as he arose from the pillow. He turned his back to Aya, his hands behind his back, as he stared out the window. Aya grabbed her head, she felt extremely dizzy. She tried to focus in on Saint Amon, but everything was blurred. Aya could sense a horrible aura near her. She darted her head around, trying to feel where it was coming from, but she had no luck. Whoever it was, they were concealing themselves very well.
"Well my dear Aya..." Saint Amon said. Aya's eyes widened. She had not given the Saint her name. "I'm sorry, but I will not be able to help you." He said.
Aya almost fell forward, she could hardly see. Saint Amon turned around to face her. Aya looked up in the direction of the Saint, and saw a pitch black cloud.
"I'm so stupid..."
"Because, you see Guardian, I am the one who is going to kill you." The man said.
Aya stood up suddenly and tried to spread her wings, the light would surely blind the darkness before her, but she could not. It was that smell, the incense. There must've been an enchantment upon them to suppress her power. The darkness grew in front of her.
"Oh, you cannot open your wings, I am not so foolish. Now, be a good girl and just DIE!" Aya saw only darkness lunge at her. Aya dove toward the ground to her right, knocking over a small table. She stood up as the Saint's body became deformed and oblong. His face changed to that of a woman, with almond shaped eyes and long dark hair.
"You bitch..." Aya muttered. It was the same succubus that had injured Oren earlier. The succubus jumped on Aya, knocking her back into a wall. They hit the ground, the succubus punching Aya in the jaw. Aya grabbed onto the woman's face, digging her fingers into the woman's eye sockets. Aya pressed down hard, as the succubus reared back and screamed. Aya felt the tips of her fingers slide behind the bone of the woman's eye sockets, and with a firm grip, she threw the succubus to the right. Aya stagged up, holding onto the wall.
The incense had made her weak, and her divine powers weren't responding. She would have to hope that with her blindness, she would be able to fight this demon off. But how would she be able to find her way back to the inn? Everything was completely blurred. The succubus let out a small cry as she threw a dagger at Aya. Aya barely moved to the left, the dagger skimming her arm before becoming stuck in the wall.
Aya yanked the dagger out of the wall and hurled it back at the succubus, striking her in the shoulder. The succubus ripped it out and threw it to the ground, charging at Aya. She ran directly into Aya, slamming her into the wall. Aya's head hit hard upon impact, and she became even more dizzy. The woman kneed Aya in the gut twice, grabbed her by the neck and repeatedly punched her in the face. She grabbed Aya by the waist, lifting her up, and threw her into the other wall, above a short table, adorned with candles on it.
Aya hit the ground and quickly rolled over, grabbing a candle, she rolled over again, throwing the lit candle at the succubus. The flame flickers out, but the hot wax flings onto the woman's face. She screams and rushes over to Aya, grabbing her by the throat with both hands, lifting her up. Aya's feet dangled above the floor, she couldn't breath at all, but her vision was starting to clear up slightly. She could see her surroundings better now, but still not enough to make it back to the inn safely.
Aya clawed at the succubus' face, then reared back her right hand, and rammed her wrist onto the succubus' nose. A loud crack follows Aya's hit, as the succubus screams, dropping Aya. Aya could barely make out the blood on the floor, as she lifts herself up, grabbing onto the wall. She was too weak to keep fighting her like this. The succubus stopped her flailing about and began to breathe heavily.
Aya could feel the succubus staring her down. She had nothing left to fight with but her hands. She had not brought a weapon with her, it was not allowed in the presence of a Saint...Aya could do nothing but cling against the wall.
"I will kill you....fucking bitch!" The succubus screamed as she started a final run. Aya couldn't make out how far the succubus was from her, she began to panic, an effect of the incense. Her limbs feel numb and heavy, she could not defend herself.
"No..."
There is a loud thud as someone breaks down the door. Loud footsteps erupt across the wooden flooring as the succubus stops and turns to her intruder. Aya hears a grunt and the crisp sound of metal slicing through the air. Aya's eyes widen as a disgusting ripping noise fills the room. The succubus lets out a horrible cry as she is cut in half, her body flies to two separate sides of the room. The man stands there and sheathes his sword to his back.
"Could it be Hiku..? No...not without Mai...I sense only the man's presence....
It isn't Oren, he does not have that physical strength....
Kenshin maybe...no, he would have no reason to do so...
....Blade? No, this is a sword....
....Shinjo.....? He wouldn't come for me.
They wouldn't even know that anything was wrong....."
Aya can hear a heavy breathing, he sounded out of breath, she wasn't sure who it was. Would this person harm her? The man's footsteps came near her. She knew the incense would wear off in a few minutes, but she didn't have that long. This person was here, right now.
The feeling in her limbs beginning to come back, Aya slid against the wall and stood up. She didn't have the strength yet to run. The man grabbed Aya by the wrist, she feared the worst, letting out a small gasp.

A man in a black mask, wearing black armor in the shape of a skeleton, stood atop the ashes of the vaporized Savangers in Olanther. His armor was a bizarre, but clear symbol of black magic, possibly Necromancy. The man was fairly tall, with very pale skin, but he was extremely built, dangerous magic oozed from his terrible aura. The man picked up the remnant of a Savanger claw, "Hmph...quite a number done out here."
Two approached the man, the first appeared to be a female vampire, wearing a short black dress, with snow white hair and blood red eyes. The second was an enormous, heavily armored man, the armor so thick, it was hard to tell what he actually was underneath. His scent reeked of undead.
The man in the black armor glanced at the two, speaking in a warped voice, he said, "Well, come out with it."
The vampire bowed, "Reports indicate Hiku and the girl were seen here, fighting Savangers with the Defender. They then left with three others, a woman and two men, one of which was injured."
The hulking man continued, "We discovered the name of their current companions, the Berserker, Shinjo, and the Guardian, Aya. The injured man we know nothing about."
The man chuckles some, "Savangers, a Berserker, and a Guardian? What has that boy gotten himself into this time?"
The vampire looks up at the man, "Apparently he's in the company of a team guarding some brat named Oren."
The man scratched his chin in thought, "Oren? Interesting...Denethor's reincarnation eh...how convenient. Jensen will be amused."
The vampire looks at him, "The great demon? Sire...how exactly is that convenient? I thought we were after the Defender and the girl that can unlock it's power..?"
The man chuckled, "Do not concern yourself with such a matter. For now, focus on locating the girl and the Defender."
The hulking man looks at him, "What about Hiku and his companions?"
The man in black armor cackled, "You know about Hiku, kill him. We don't need him getting in our way, but remember, I need the girl alive. Deal with his companions only if they get in the way, the last thing we need is a group of misfits trailing us. And as for whoever is after Oren, make sure they fail...for the time being."
The hulking man asks, "Why?"
The man in black armor looks at them, "Because this is a once in a century opportunity. Go! Vector, Shela! Follow the Defender's trail to the city of Valencia. Kill any that get in your way."
The two bow, "Mi' lord!" They would disappear into black mist and fade from the area.
Another female approached slowly, wearing what appeared to be a dancer's outfit. She had black hair and violet colored eyes.
The man simply says, "What is the condition of the GIANT?"
The woman says, "After four years, it still hasn't been fully recovered. However, very soon it will be ready for your command again."
The man laughed, "Indeed, but for now, let's focus on the task at hand without needing that over sized monstrosity..."
The man turns around, "You've done well...Eliza."

"Hey, are...you all right...?" The man said as he grabbed Aya's wrist, panting heavily.
Aya looks up, her sight still blurry, but she makes out the form as best as possible, it was a young man with dark hair, a dark colored cloak surrounding his body.
The young man grunts again and falls to one knee.
"Damn it...still not enough, shit."
The young man collapses to the floor below him, a small thud is heard, dust rises from the floor and fills the air, almost sparkling. Aya sighs, and rests for the moment, her breathing beginning to even out. Her vision begins to clear once more, the effects of the incense finally wearing off.
She groggily gets to her legs, using the wall for support, after regaining her balance, she feels around on the floor of the darkened room, she soon finds the candle, concentrates, and creates a spark of flame upon the candle's wick.
She gasps, its the young man from Olanther, how did he know where she was? Why was here? And more importantly, who in hell was he? He had only been treated just a few hours prior, and yet, he was able to come across town completely, yield a blade, and then slice a succubus clean in two...
"Just who and what are you..." Aya wonders. She sighs, her strength slowly returning to her, as she picks up the young man, and begins to walk out of the church with him. As they enter the outside world, snow has begun to fall.
Aya sighs, to memories of past lives long forgotten.
Kenshin looks down from his perch nearby.
"Heh, such an interesting young man...able to do all that, having a punctured lung, and all. How curious..." Kenshin's face shows a small smile. He looks down to the two again, deciding he had better head back to the inn before being caught, he takes off down the roof tops again, this time at a slower pace than before, snow was always tricky in sandals.
Aya treks back to the inn slowly. The extra weight of the once again unconscious young man dragging down on her. She looks back, wondering if the young man only succeeded in killing himself this time, no blood showed on the white trodden path behind them.
She placed her ear close to his mouth, his breathing was coming out, slow and shallow, but in an even tempo. She looks up to the gray sky, white flakes continue to fall and coat everything in their cold grace.
Aya turns to the young man, questions still plaguing her mind. He would have a lot to answer for when he finally came to.
Colt sits up groggily within a small field. The wind blows slowly from the east, he smiles, knowing where he is, and knowing that where he is, isn't real. At least anymore. He sighs, and decides to let the dream play out, even though it will only bring him grief later on, he lets it continue unimpeded.
"Colt!" A young girl's voice sounds, Colt smiles, he knows the voice all too well. He sits up, to stare into the eyes of his younger sister. She smiles and waves to him. He smile's back, tears form in his eyes as she begins to drift away and fade. Only now, in his dreams, could he see her smiling face.
"Damn it!" He screams, tears fall down his face, staining his complexion, brining a sadness to his eyes. The fire in them, normally burning like the sun, gone. Doused with the vision of his younger sister, dying before his eyes, again, and again, as long as he lives.
Aya soon makes it back to the inn, she sighs, finally, she wouldn't have to lug this man around anymore. She opens the door, as Shinjo, Blade, Hiku, Mai, and Oren turn toward the door, bringing with herself and Colt, the cold glare Aya gives to them all.
"Who let him wander off with a punctured lung?" Aya said coldly.
The group turns toward the young man on her shoulder. They all looked confused, Mai especially. Suddenly, she dashes to the room Colt was in, as she enters, she sees an empty bed, and an open window, the curtains flapping in the cold wind.

Aya looked like hell. She passed Colt off to Mai and Oren, who took him back to the room to lay him down. Aya slid down the door frame. She was upset that Oren or Shinjo had not come to her aide. Aya felt cold."How in the hell did I make it back here safely..."Kenshin swung down from the roof, into the room's window.
"It was you, wasn't it?" She asked.
"...watching the boy...." he said softly.
"He is...strange..." Aya said, still trying to catch her breath. Hiku made his way to the room with Oren and Mai, as Shinjo began to walk to Aya, but Blade rushed passed him.
"You okay kitten??" He said with a very concerned tone, though his breath smelled like booze again.
"I would have died, that succubus came back and silenced my abilities, she killed Saint Amon. I don't even think the priest, Rowan, knows...." Aya perks up suddenly. "Oh no, that priest!" She exclaims before running back down the stairs.
Aya wasn't thinking, she didn't take any weapons, yet again. It was freezing out, the snow still coming down. Aya rubbed her arms and took off running toward the sanctuary. Aya was afraid that Rowan might be able to help them, and if not, he might be killed by the enemy.
But who was the enemy? All these unique people gathered in one place...why was it happening? It was too coincidental. Kenshin darted across the rooftops close by Aya, as she headed to the sanctuary. Blade jumped out of the window the of inn, sprinting off as soon as his feet touched the ground.
"Oren, stay here with Mai and Hiku!" Shinjo yelled before jumping off the balcony as well. The bar keep sees the group rushing off in the snow through the downstairs bar window.
He just shook his head, "Kids..." He said while pouring another beer.
Aya made it to the sanctuary and ran inside, accidentally pulling down some of the beads hanging from the door frame. Aya ran into the large main room and came to a stop. The smell of the incense was still lingering. Aya's joints immediately felt weak, but her vision was not blurred this time. There was a funny smell in the air.
Aya readied herself. The smell was not human. Horrendously loud footsteps came thundering out of the shadows, beneath a balcony, Aya glanced over to see a giant hole in the back wall. A huge man emerges from the hole and stands with his sword propped upon his shoulder. Aya had never seen this man before. His skin was pale and discolored, his eyes a piercing deep blue. He had no hair and wielded a very large, intimidating broadsword. (i15.photobucket.com/albums/a356/kaname_chidori1983/dragonslayer.jpg)
"I am Vector" He said in a warped tone. "Where is the Defender?" He asked."The Defender...? Hiku's sword....why does he want it? What the hell kind of mess have we gotten into now....?"Aya says nothing to him.
"You are the Guardian that my master speaks of, I have orders to kill you if you get in my way. You don't look like much of a challenge, girl. Why don't you scream for me?!?" The enormous man yelled as charged Aya.
She still didn't have her weapons."Great..."The large man thundered across the wooden floor, raising his sword high above his head. The ground lit up with a circular pattern around Aya's feet as she narrowed her eyes. She was too slow, the man was going to strike her before she could cast her spell. Vector swung his sword downward with such force, that it could rip a building in two.
A bright green streak swipes upward, knocking the large man back quite a ways. Vector did not anticipate this. Aya's concentration is broken momentarily as Shinjo stands to her side, facing her, his sword held out in front of her, glowing brilliantly."....."Aya laid her arms over Shinjo's extended arm before her and concentrated energy to her two index fingers. An unnatural wind began to move violently around her as a blinding white light shot out into the hulking man, striking his right shoulder. The man flew back from the impact, landing with a horribly loud "THUD" on his neck. He bounced to the ground and laid there. Blade entered the room the same way Aya and Shinjo had come in, as Kenshin came darting in from the right, with Rowan right behind him.
"Are you alright?" Shinjo said to Aya, she was shaking a bit.
"...I'm...fine...." She said, pulling her arms back down to her side as Shinjo readies down his sword.
"Ugh..." Vector muttered. He stabbed his sword into the ground, pulling himself up with it. There was a hole in his shoulder from Aya's attack. Everyone in the room was surprised by the man's ability to still move. "That was quite impressive..." He said. "...but your aim is off." He snarled.
"I wasn't trying to kill you." She snapped back at him. "Why are you looking for that sword?" She quickly asked.
"Heh, that's none of your business." He said as he rotated his shoulder a bit.
"The lady asked ya a question." Blade said with a rude tone, his scythe at ready.
"Hahahaha, well isn't this a surprise?" Vector laughed. "Shela will be pleased to see you." He said.
"Sh...Shela?" Blade muttered out. He looked a bit distressed.
Kenshin stood in front of Rowan defensively, as his foot skid a bit to the right. Vector hears the skid and looks over with a wicked intent in his eyes.
"Oh, I don't plan to kill that boy. Oren isn't who we're after." He said. The man started off toward the hole in the back wall.
"Do you think you're leaving here so easily after attack Aya for no reason??" Shinjo yelled to Vector.
"Oh please. That girl killed my libido, I'm not in any mood to fight now." He said. Vector stepped one foot out the hole in the back wall and grabbed a hold of the broken wood. "Besides, she didn't even scream for me." He says, stopping and turning around a bit, just showing his eyes, "Scream for me next time." He said as he steps out of the sanctuary, and into the darkness.
Aya let out a much needed sigh of relief and carelessly fell with her back to the wall, purposely. She breathed heavily.
"I thought he was going to kill me..." She said.
"Aya." Kenshin said, Aya looks up to him. "This man is not yet a Saint."
"Damn it.." Aya muttered.
"Don't worry, we'll find one." Shinjo said.
"Miss..." Rowan said, "I only need to study for two more weeks...then I will have fulfilled my duties to become a Saint, if it helps." He said.
"Really?" Aya said, somewhat surprised.
"I have no problem helping you if you need the assistance of a Saint. That man would have killed me, had none of you been here." Rowan said. "I will do anything you ask, I am in your debt." He said.
"Thank you." Shinjo said.
"I need to gather some of my things...I shouldn't be long." Rowan said, as he walked off toward a side room.
The group walked back outside the sanctuary. Shinjo walked stood near Aya, as Blade and Kenshin walked further out. The snow was beautiful in the midst of all the violence and mayhem.
Rowan emerged from the sanctuary a few minutes later, and walked over between Kenshin and Blade. The group started toward the inn, but Aya stopped as the others kept walking. "Why is such a horrid night so beautiful?" Aya said while looking up to the sky. "What a waste." Aya said as she rubbed her arms from the cold. "Pfft, I guess the only beautiful thing is the snow." Aya said before she sneezed and shivered a bit as the wind blew.

Hiku groaned, he hated watching Oren. He was quite the whiner, particularly when Aya wasn't around.
Mai fortunately managed to keep Oren occupied doing things, she seemed to know how to handle him more than Hiku could. Hiku blinked, hearing a strange noise.
Mai looks over to Hiku, also hearing it, "What was that...something feels wrong."
Hiku stood up, hearing a cracking sound above, then Hiku shouted, "Everyone down!" They all took cover, Mai pulling Colt under a table, as a section of the ceiling came down on them. Mai let out a scream as it collapsed.
Hiku pushed some rubble out of the way, panic struck the inn as the guests, even the barkeep left, fearing the building would fall upon then.
Rowan, Kenshin, Blade, Aya and Shinjo had just reached the main walkway, only to notice people fleeing from the direction of the inn. Aya stopped one of the panicked citizens, "What the hell is going on!?"
The frightened man cried out, "Some crazy woman is tearing the inn apart!" before he ran off again.
Shinjo blinked, "Selene? No... this doesn't seem like an approach she'd use."
Blade frowned a bit, he didn't like what he sensed at all.
Hiku growled as a woman hovered down from the hole in the ceiling. She had a wicked laugh, staring down at Hiku as he snarled at her, "Shela!"
Shela laughed, "You remember little old me...I'm touched...give me the girl and the sword and I will make your death less painful."
Hiku snarls, "How damn cliche can you be woman!" Hiku looks back, "Mai, take Oren and Colt and get the hell out of here!"
Mai shakes her head, "Not without you!"
Hiku growls, "You are too easy of a target right now just go! If Shela's here, then Vector has to be here too! Find Aya and the others!" Hiku drew the Defender.
"I only have about ten minutes with this. Mai, be quick about it...I don't think I can beat her on my own."
Shela released a ball of lightning, Hiku raised his sword to try to block the blow, the energy between her attack and the sword caused him to fall back. Shela cackled, "Aww...what's the matter Hiku? Can't stand on your own two feet?"
Hiku growled, "I've never laid down and died before...I'm not about to start now."
Shela laughed, "And you insult me for cliche boy?"
Mai raced down the stairs and through the ruined bar, carrying Colt with Oren's assistance. She hoped that she could get to Aya and Shinjo, in the midst of the panic, before Hiku's short time frame ran out.
Meanwhile, surprisingly enough, Blade had been silent the entire trek back to the inn.
"Who is she....who is Shela...and why can't I remember?"

Colt's eyes began to flutter open, feeling his body being bounced around.
"What the hell..?" He says in a small whisper, his head spins from right to left. He sees a hole in the floor above, a woman floats there, laughing at a young man, his sword in his hands below waist level, a submissive stance for a blade...
Colt groans, his ribs acting up after what he put them through.
"Damn it...damn this gift, damn this curse...why me..?"
Blade's eyes focus on the woman floating within the air, why is she familiar...his head swims, was she a one night stand that got pissed off, a hooker who didn't get paid well enough? Or worse, someone who actually wanted to, and could kill him...?
Right now, he doesn't care. Drawing his scythe, he readies for battle.
Kenshin stands in front of Aya, his right hand guarding her, and his left hand drawing his blade from its sheathe.
"What are you planning to do Kenshin?" She asked.
"You'll see in due time."
Hiku breathed hard, sweat trickling down his brow, he brought his blade up to bear at Shela, his eyes glowing with a hatred that only he can know.
"You will die by my hands one day wench."
Shela looks to him, shocked, then she laughs. A cold, vile laugh that could melt the falling snow outside.
"Hahaha! Dear small, child, you cannot hope to win against me."
Colt, seeing the young man readying his blade, draws from his waist a small knife, twirling it in his hands. He spins it, then with a snap and crack of his wrist, Colt launches the knife toward the woman's throat.
Shela turns suddenly, extending her palm, the short blade stops mid air, inches from her hand. She stares at the would-be assassin.
"Heh, well this is interesting...how many little friends can you gather, Hiku?" Shela said, turning her attention away from Colt. Unknown to them, Shela sensed an immense energy from Colt, but she did not understand what it might be.
Hiku stares from the woman, back to Colt, as Mai and Oren leave, falling behind the others. Hiku wondered who the hell Colt really was...

Hiku grunts, his ability to focus waning, due to the Defender, but thee was no other option. Shela turned to see his backup had arrived, she cocked a brow toward Blade, "Hm...well well. What an interesting twist of fate..."
Shela turned to Hiku, "Sorry boy, but we'll settle this another day..." She turned toward the group, giving a wry grin before disappearing into the night from which she came. Hiku growled, returning the Defender to it's case. The others make their way through the remains of the inn.
Meanwhile, outside of city, Vector was sneering, "Well Shela, you failed."
Shela put a hand through her hair, "I merely delayed, besides, your the one who got his ass handed to him."
Their leader snarled, "Both of you shut up, you both failed miserably!" Vector and Shela went quiet as the he continued, "Thanks to you two, they know we're here, and Hiku will probably be able to gain support from them. It's time that I intervened..."
The man in black armor raised his hands, tapping into his dark magic, "I hope you enjoy your fight with Stalkers...because it will be much harder now."
Back at the city, in an alley near the inn, Mai was tending to a leg injury Hiku received when the ceiling collapsed.
Shinjo crossed his arms, "Hiku, what the hell is going on?"
Hiku shifted his eyes, "It's none of your business."
Mai growled, smacking him on the head, "Be quiet! It's their business now as well, Vector attacked them too!"
Hiku groaned, as Aya asked, "Are those two working together?"
Hiku looked up, "...Yes. Mai told you about the incident four years ago, well since that time, I've run into Vector and Shela on several occasions. I don't know who they're working for, but their primary goal seems to be the Defender...and Mai."
Aya glanced at Mai, then back at Hiku. "Why?"
Hiku shrugged, "I really don't know. Even with Mai's help, all I've ever been able to do, is fight them to a stalemate. They're both undead....and very powerful. Vector is a powerhouse who is particularly indestructible, no matter how severely you damage him, it doesn't seem to phase him. Shela is a vampire that goes back centuries, I don't know much about her, but her magic speaks far more then I really need to know."
Aya frowns, first Oren's enemies, and now Hiku's too...how could the situation get any more complicated?
