This thread is devoted to the creation of the PSO Fancomic, Phantasy Star Online Episode V: Wayward Ambition. I'll update this thread as often as I add new work, random updates and whatnot as they come along. I will post promo sketches as they come along. This will be one of the few sites I host the book at.
- I am condensing all of my comic info down to a few posts, so the thread will be a little messy for a few days until I get all of it sorted out.

Here is a brief summary of everything that has been covered so far...
- Currently, I have finished writing the story with the exception of a few filler scenes, and I am in the process of typing it up.
- I have made a new email and photobucket account specifically for the comic.
- Photobucket Account - This is my account for prototype designs and such that I will post to give everyone an idea as to what's going on. Promo material will also appear here. photobucket.com/albums/g200/PSOepV_Wayward_Ambition/
- Finally got the names straightened out for the two main bad guys. They are being kept quiet as to not spoil the plot.
- The techniques, items and weapon descriptions will be stripped directly from the game. I'll be spending some time with my GCN to get some of this stuff down. If I need a weapon description or two, I'll post to see if anyone else has it.
- I'll be including information from Cranberry's Fanfiction, The Ringed Land, which can be found here: psohaven.proboards41.com/index.cgi?board=animan&action=display&thread=1111277762
- All of the main 7 characters' profiles have been created and sent to me. Still working on some of the support character profiles, since there are about 38.
- Had a problem with a support character's name, but decided to stick with Surge, over Zero, since another support character was using that name at the time.
- All main characters will have one main weapon, and two secondary weapons. I'll list them later and find some good tekker pictures to use for linking from the character's profile.
- Got masses of reference images, especially for fight scenes, since those can be rather difficult to animate nicely.
- Backstory on Ragol, in-game items, etc will be added in later posts. They will also be included in the comic, via a "Data" page.
- Added inner-struggles for all main characters except for one character, who will not have one. These are used in a scene about halfway through the book, in which the team must face some of their inner-most fears in order to proceed.
- Final name has been decided for the story, it is now
Phantasy Star Online Episode V: Wayward Ambition.
[/li][li] Time for the story is: The year is A.U.W 3084, just 2 months after the defeat of St. Milion, and 6 months after Pioneer 2 first reached Ragol. [/li][li] All main characters will have casual clothing while on Pioneer 2. I have let the characters themselves choose what clothing they want for their character. [/li][li] Three proof-readers have been chosen for the story. Once I have completed typing it up and editing it, I will send it to them for review. After I receive it back from them, I will make whatever changes and will begin to animate the book. [/li][li] All main characters have chosen a theme song to play on their profile page in the comic. I have one from everyone with the exception of one character, and a few of the larger support characters who will use one. The themes contain no lyrics, and are not used by another character in the comic. Songs are to be submitted in MP3 format. [/li][li] Two versions of the book will be released. One will contain the music how I planned, the other will contain no music what-so-ever, mainly for people not using high-speed internet. [/li][li] I made an account on SaveFile so everyone can upload the songs to listen to. They are automatically deleted after 30 days with no downloads, but I will repost them once I notice they are down. [/li][/ul] Any questions should be sent to me via PM, or by email:[/color] PSOepV_Wayward_Ambition@yahoo.com

- Profiles will be added back to this post later on, after I upload the most current ones-
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another addition Here are a few more ideas I added to the story. Include them in your character profile, if you wish. Contact one another for tie-ins so it matches.
Junior School- Regular School for Elementary-Junior High School/Middle School students. Attendance is mandatory from age 6-15.
Elder School- Regular High School, average enrolling age is 16. Most of the citizens of Coral and Pioneer 2 attended this standard school. Attendance is from 16-18.
Hunters Academy- A type of private Elder School for aspiring Hunters. Legends such as Heathcliff Flowen, "Great Sword" Zoke and Donoph Baz often taught temporary classes here. Average enrolling age is 16, and the learning duration is 3 years. Most don't make it to the higher years in the school, as during the 2nd year, it becomes exceedingly more difficult and harsh upon the students. Upon graduation, they can choose one of few paths: a Hunter, a member of the military/Government Official, or an associate in the Lab.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the comic, I will be including the Character Profiles with a small picture of the character. Also included, will be a list of techniques and the weapon descriptions of all the weapons used in the comic. The original storyline from PSO Episode I & II will also be edited and added in.
NOTE: Techniques such as Ryuker, Reverser, Megid and Grants are not easily cast. They take much skill and time to perform.
Items such as Star Atomizers and Moon Atomizers are very few and far between. Mining of materials that make Scape Dolls, Star and Moon Atomizers has been banned by one of the support characters.

These are the currect main character profiles. They were all created by the individual characters themselves.
Cranberry Class: FOnewearl Age: 21 Height: 5' 1" Weight: 100 lbs Eye Color: Brown Hair Color: Black Weapon of Choice: Windmill, Double Saber Armor: Sacred Cloth Shield: Blue Ring MAG: Red Sato
Bio: Cranberry is also known as the Fire Mage. Her frequent use of fire type techniques, especially her favorite technique Gifoie, has earned her this nickname. Cranberry never goes anywhere without her Windmill, and Blue Ring. Her Windmill serves as her primary weapon and her Blue Ring represents her strong bond with Dark Force. Cranberry has a red Sato that she keeps with her. Use caution around this Sato as it has been known to maul people, namely Sage. One thing that makes Cranberry unique from other hunters is that she has mastered communication with MAG's.
Cranberry was born on Coral and lived with her mother and father. Like Phoenix, she is a naturally born Newman and was not created in a lab. She did not exactly have a loving family however. Her parents virtually ignored her, seeing her as more of a burden and a great inconvenience to their lives than a daughter and member of the family. Cranberry was never shown any real love or affection by her parents. As she grew older she developed an interest in techniques and left home to attend the Hunters Academy where she could study techniques. It was here that she met Dark Force. The two quickly formed a strong bond and Dark Force became the one true friend Cranberry had. Later when Pioneer 2 was preparing their crew, Cranberry asked Dark Force to come with her to Ragol. The two remain very close. Cranberry is very loyal and dedicated to Dark Force and would do anything for her best friend.
Kenshin Class: HUcast Age: 17 Height: 7' 0" Weight: 750 lbs Color: Green and Orange Weapon of Choice: Lavis Cannon, Chain Sawd Armor: Luminous Field Shield: Kasami Bracer MAG: White Rati
Bio: Manufactured by the military, Kenshin was built for armed combat and programmed to be the one of the best manufactured androids. However, after his training was complete, Kenshin realized he did not want to be part of the military. What he really wanted to do was sell caeks, so he devised a plan to escape from the military. The plan went surprisingly well, until he was spotted by Kireek, an old friend. After working for a while, Kenshin opened up a business with the money he had earned. The business was doing extremely well, but unfortunately he was arrested for selling sweets to civilians. He awaited his sentence in prison... two months later... he was brought to court and was sentenced to, unwillingly, serve under the military or attend the Hunters Academy to become a hunter. There wasnt really much of a choice for Kenshin, he would have to serve his 15 year sentence at the Hunters Academy.
Kenshin is unmatched in skill when using saber type weapons. He can handle most hunter weapons well with the exception of claw type weapons. Kenshin likes to study his enemies and think before making a move in combat. However, he will not hesitate if he finds one of his comrades in mortal danger. Attendence at the Hunters Academy has made Kenshin a serious and well diciplined hunter. He's a very quiet individual, but will show his emotions through actions such as giving caek to people.
Dragin Hiku Class: RAmar Age: Unknown (Appears to be in mid-twenties) Height: 6' 1" Weight: 175 lbs Eye Color: Emerald Green Hair Color: Light Cyan Weapon of Choice: Baranz Launcher/Flamberg Armor: Virus Wear: Lafuteria Shield: Tripolic Reflector MAG: Deva
Bio: Dragin's origins and past on the world of Coral is faded and unknown at most. There is no record of his existance, but rumor has it that he was caught in an explosion on Coral caused by a meteor strike upon which the original D-Cells were discovered...though he has never denied nor accepted the rumor. However this rumor is often considered false considering he doesn't look old enough to have been anywhere near that location at that time. Though oddly enough, Dragin seems to have the ability to sense the effects of D-cells within his own body in the form of pain. Dragin was discovered on Pioneer 2 by a newman woman named Yuhi, who’s father was Solinus Liore, a highly respected and highly ranked military official in WORKS.
Dragin began doing jobs within the military thus proving himself a worthy member of the WORKS division and in his engagement to the woman who had lead him to this lifestyle. However a few nights before Pioneer 2 reached Ragol, Dragin broke into WORKS research facility and made off with the prototype launcher based on the assault machine Baranz and a new powerful saber in development. As well as a shield developed by WORKS for the project that Dragin had discovered that led him to betray them... the Heaven Striker project. Dragin and Yuhi both disappeared for some time until the discovery of the ancient ruins beneath Ragol. Dragin and Yuhi had both become hunters and continued their new roles, consistently avoiding the military for his actions.
Dragin is a fairly quiet individual, someone who only tends to speak when he feels he has to or if he’s spoken to. He rarely gets mad about anything, other then when someone says something harsh about his wife. He often speaks higher of her then most people. He’s strong willed and will do what is necessary to get the job done, regardless of the cost. Though a ranger, Dragin is extremely adept to saber-type weapons, as well as handling them just as well as any Hunter. He continues to wield the weapons and shield he had stolen from WORKS as well as an armor developed from research that he helped in. Yuhis' recent disappearance has put Dragin on edge, but in an attempt to find her, he accepted the mission with the other Hunters.
Shinjo Yoshida Class: RAmar Age: 16 Height: 6' 0" Weight: 190 lbs Eye Color: Brown Hair Color: Cyan Weapon of Choice: Dual Yashminkov 2000 Armor: Shield: Stand Still Shield MAG: Sega Genesis
Bio: Raised in a middle class family on Pioneer 2, Shinjo wasn’t faced with many problems throughout most of his life. At around 3 ½ years of age Shinjo met Zophar, a child with a similar life. A decade of ups and downs passed through the duo’s eyes as they were soon forced with the decision of choosing they’re career’s. Kids their age would normally have chosen an internship while still attending their respective schools. Yet Shinjo and Zophar had wanted to become Hunter’s for some while now. They enrolled in a beginner’s program at the Hunter’s Academy. During their training they were noticed by a seasoned Hunter Veteran who had served in the Pioneer Defense Force Division, WORKS. Being ahead of their class by a long shot they were soon enrolled in higher more challenging courses. While at the Hunters Academy, Zophar took a little time out of his day to help Shinjo learn at least some basic techniques. Shinjo’s fascination with firearms and the sort grew so large that he had no doubt in his mind that he would become a Ranger. Now doing freelance work for the Hunter’s Guild and the Government, the young Hunter’s are busy non-stop.
Not a cocky person, Shinjo often times will overdo things in order to get the job done, it’s not too uncommon to see him come home with more cases of bullets then he left with. Shinjo is very down-to-earth and prefers to lay back and let things happen while he adapts to the situation. More often than not, he’ll be the one making the second move and not the first. He has a deep loyalty to his friends and likes to think he wouldn’t hesitate to save them any way possible. An all around Hunter really, instead of fighting up front he just does it from afar.
Axel Class: HUmar Age: 21 Height: 6’0 Weight: 160 lbs Eye Color: Green Hair Color: Platinum Blonde Weapon of Choice: Sange & Yasha, Red Handgun, Red Mechguns Armor: Lieutenant Armor Shield: Kasami Bracer MAG: Sato (dark gray)
Bio: Axel has been a loner most of his life. Having been orphaned since his parents died in Coral explosion when he was an adolescent, Axel has learned to take care of himself. This gives him a bit of a selfish streak.
Because of his lack of an authority figure in his early youth, Axel would get into trouble with the law frequently. He had no way to focus his boundless energy. During a run in with the law Axel, then a 13 year old, was apprehended and sent off to the Hunters Guild Academy. There he was made to focus his destructive tendencies in more constructiveways. He was taught the skills necessary to join the Hunters Guild and become a bounty hunter to make a living for himself. His inherent talent was obvious when during training exercises, he would seriously injure other students and even trainers with the wooden swords students like himself were given to train with.
A man named Zoke Miyama took heed of this and took Axel under his wing as a student. Zoke taught Axel the art of combat using weapons such as swords, rifles, handguns, double sabers, and most importantly, the paired sword. For the next 7 years as Pioneer 2 drew closer to Ragol, Axel grew into a mature adult and top class Hunter under Zokes tutelage. When Pioneer 2 reached Ragol, Axel had received word that Principal Tyrell was commissioning all hunters to go down and investigate Ragol and the incident with the strange explosion at the Central Dome. His master had also gone to Ragol to investigate the strange series of events and he hadn’t heard from him since. So, with a standard issue Saber, Frame, MAG and 300 Meseta, Axel began the first part of his journey. After the defeat of the entity Dark Falz, Axel came to find out that his former teacher had been killed while down in the spaceship underneath Ragol.
Zophar[/u] Class: FOmar Age: 17 Height: 5'9" Weight: 150 lbs Eye color: Golden Yellow Hair color: Ash Black Weapon of Choice: Soul Banish, S-rank twin, Bringer's rifle Armor: Luminous Field Shield: Tripolic Shield MAG: Nidra
BIO: Zophar lives in a dorm at the Hunter’s Academy along with his friend Shinjo. His mother and father were hunters, but they quit soon after Pioneer2 started heading for Ragol. Both he and Shinjo enrolled into the hunters academy earlier than most of the students thanks to being noticed by a WORKS Veteran. While in Junior School, he meets Phoenix, who he has grown to care for deeply. During his first years at the academy, Zophar studied techniques very closely, but also diligently learned how to use weapons such as double sabers and scythes later on. Both Shinjo and Zophar take jobs from the guild and government, usually looking for good pay more than anything. During one mission, however, Zophar learned of something that would make him despise WORKS.
Zophar is not very strong physically, he relies on the strength of the weapons he uses and his skill with them to try to get over this weakness. He puts top priority in amplifying the strength of his partners using a variety of support techniques. While knowing a great deal of other techniques, the only other ones he uses regularly are gifoie, gizonde, and rabarta. Zophar is very quiet and seemingly unfriendly, never opening his mouth unless he sees the need to. He is also very hard on himself and greatly fears ruining things for others. Zophar would do anything for his friends, for they mean much more to him than himself.
Yuhi Hiku[/u] Class: HUnewearl Age: 21 Height: 5’9” Weight: 108 lbs Eye Color: Dark Red Hair Color: Pink Weapon of Choice: Heart of Poumn, Flight Cutter, Flowen Sword 3084 Armor: Lieutenant Mantle Shield: Yata Mirror MAG: Tellusis
BIO: Yuhi is the natural born Newman child of Solinus Liore, a famous and important member of the WORKS division, as well as a member of high class society. Regardless of Yuhi’s high upbringing she is unusually kind-hearted and friendly to all she knows…even those that despise the upper class could find nothing to hate about her. However her kindness would end up changing her life forever when she helped a silent and mysterious stranger by the name of Dragin Hiku, after she found him injured in an alleyway in the living area on Pioneer 2.
Afterwards introducing the man with unusual fighting ability to her father. Dragin quickly advanced through the ranks at a rate that alarmed and confused many. As for Yuhi, she drew close to Dragin for reasons even she couldn't understand…regardless of Dragin’s lack of feeling for much. Though she was one of the few who could make the hardened man smile. They eventually secretly engaged to marry, having to wait for Dragin to reach high enough in the ranks that they could marry without the class issue getting in the way. However, Dragin discovered a secret within WORKS and attacked the headquarters stealing a few prototype items from the facility. Yuhi found Dragin after the incident before anyone else did, leaving her with two choices, to leave with Dragin and abandon her life forever or turn him in. She chose to leave with him…the two disappeared without a trace only to reappear a few months later, upon discovering of the ruins beneath Ragol. Appearing as Hunters continuing to hide from WORKS, Yuhi and Dragin’s first mission was with a Newman woman the same age as Yuhi, by the name of Phoenix. They became friendly comrades due their similar age, race and, somewhat, their fighting style, holding slightly better terms with Phoenix, than her silent husband. Recently, in a moment of distraction on Dragin’s part, Yuhi has disappear without a trace…
Yuhi, as mentioned before, is a very kind and friendly woman to everyone and is not an experienced fighter like her husband. However, she quickly learned on her own to help Dragin elude WORKS. As kind-hearted as she was, she had a strong-will when she was forced to fight. She fights mostly with her Heart of Poumn which she and Dragin discovered on Ragol shortly after sneaking down. Yuhi is also skilled in Slicers and Swords. Unlike most Hunewearls, her techinque strength is relatively weak but she makes up for that with physical powess and some support ability as well.

BACKSTORY UPDATE
Ok so since I added the fact that everyone can help out with things, I decided to post the npc" character bios and the Organizations. This is all ripped directly from the PSOBB site to give the best explanation of backstory possible.
PSO ORGANIZATIONS
Coral Coral (The Homeworld)
This is the planet from which the people of Pioneer 1 and Pioneer 2 emigrated.
The entire planet had been caught under the chaos and turmoil of war, and as a result, the environment and ecosystem began to collapse. Due to the high degree of infighting, the power held by the military grew, and as of present, the government and the military have an unusually close relationship.
The Pioneer Project was the brainchild of the most powerful national group on Coral, the Alliance of Nations.
Pioneer 2 Principal Government
The office of Principal Colin Tyrell oversees all government functions aboard Pioneer 2. While nominally having a cooperative relationship with the government, organizations with strong homeworld backing like the military and the Lab have their own plans and agendas about which Tyrell knows nothing.
Due to the rapidly-changing situation on the planet Ragol, as well as the strange activities of other organizations, the Principal and his office have formed their own security team and research team.
Pioneer Military
The bulk of the military forces for the Pioneer Project were sent aboard Pioneer 1 due to initial colonization duties. Pioneer 2 is populated mostly by ordinary citizens, and therefore their forces are quite limited in terms of both manpower and weaponry. As a result, they have fallen behind the hunters in terms of strength and clout.
However, there are rumors that WORKS, a secret military faction headed by Leo Grahart, is currently conducting maneuvers behind the scenes...
WORKS WORKS (Military Special Ops Task Force)
This is the colloquial name for the 32 nd Space Mechanized Mobile Infantry.
Because they grew to such power within Coral's military forces, the government assigned the division's captain, Leo Grahart, to a non-military rank government office. Furthermore, Grahart's own inner circle of elite troops were all assigned to special duty aboard Pioneer 1, in order to further weaken the core of their might and influence.
As for the WORKS force aboard Pioneer 2, Grahart does have a number of followers, and he has some type of operation in motion, but his supporter on the technical side, Professor Montague, has disappeared. Any details of the operation itself are shrouded in secrecy. There are also rumors that the Lab has some hand in strange dealings.
The government's directly-controlled special ops force, Black Paper, while officially a cooperating entity with WORKS, is actually working against them.
Pioneer 1 Research Group Pioneer 1 Research Group (P1 Lab)
Pioneer 1's research team was headed by Dr. Osto Hyle, and was charged with study and experimentation of Ragol's native wildlife, including genetic engineering. Whereas Pioneer 2's research group operates in the public eye, the P1 Lab carried out the combined intentions of the government and military behind the scenes.
During the initial colonization, they set up an underground facility in order to study previously-unknown energy dynamics. Also, Dr. Hyle set up another facility on Gal Da Val Island, away from the Central Dome, for the purposes of carrying out bioengineering experiments.
It is believed that the energy experiments were part of the homeworld's plan all along, but that Dr. Hyle conducted the large-scale biological experiments on his own accord, outside of any project guidelines approved by Coral.
Pioneer 2 Research Group Pioneer 2 Research Group (P2 Lab)
The Pioneer 2 Research Group was set up to be the primary establishment for analyzing Ragol research data, performing additional genetic and mechanical engineering tasks, as well as Photon energy research and experimentation. They report to both the Principal and to Coral.
There was strong support from the military side for Dr. Montague, but the current government-appointed Lab Chief is Natasha Millarose. The organization, despite existing aboard Pioneer 2, has strong backing from the homeworld, and has achieved a strong degree of independence. Nominally, they work under the orders of the Principal, but they have been known to operate with military and government backing without reporting these functions.
Black Paper Black Paper (Government Special Ops Task Force)
Known to most as an underworld syndicate that operates in the shadows.
On the surface, they appear to be a small organization, but they are actually the secret ops task force under direct control of the Alliance of Nations on Coral. On Ragol, they carry out their activities in secret, working to recover data and information regarding the research performed by Pioneer 1 on behalf of the Alliance of Nations.
Recently, there have been rumors that they have been operating in concert with the Pioneer 2 Lab. Leo Grahart's WORKS team is ostensibly cooperating with them, but in reality, the two organizations are at odds in their goals.
Hunters' Guild
This is under the direct jurisdiction of Principal Tyrell himself. Nowadays, hunters perform a wide variety of tasks, such as providing bodyguard service, reclaiming lost valuables, and other beneficial services. Until recently, they had been seen as little more than a gang of uncultured rogues, looked down upon by the public and especially so by upper-class citizens. In order to create a more useful organization, they were put under governmental management.
Back on Coral, when this move was first made, a number of hunters decided to remain unaffiliated, and worked as mercenaries in the multitude of internal planetary conflicts. Because of this, hunters established quite a name and reputation for themselves and there is a great deal of enmity between hunters and the military.
Even aboard Pioneer 2, with the Principal's specially sanctioned status for hunters, there exists a gap between the lifestyle of average and high-class citizen and hunters. However, as the reputation of hunters performing good deeds for the people has grown, the general outlook toward them has improved greatly, and their numbers are growing rapidly as more and more aspiring folk (as well as people with a need to duck out of the public eye) join their ranks.

RAGOL HISTORY
The planet Coral is the center of civilization, not far from humanity's own future.
As a seemingly never-ending war rages across the planet's surface, a new problem arises: the world's environment is degrading rapidly. The damage is irreparable and soon the planet will be uninhabitable to human life. The Alliance of Nations, a group of 10 of the most powerful countries on Coral, comes together and forms a plan to abandon the planet and search for a new world to call home.
Countless probes are sent into the furthest reaches of space, and yet only one happens to find a world that is suitable for human life. The Alliance of Nations names this planet "Ragol” and proceeds with The Pioneer Project, beginning construction on the first deep-space colony vessel, Pioneer 1. Pioneer 1 arrives on Ragol a year later, carrying the first emigrants. These settlers are charged with surveying and inspecting the surrounding area, ensuring its safety and its level of viability, along with priming the landing site for further colonization. Fortifications are set up, and the budding colony's hub is constructed: the Central Dome.
...Seven years pass. Upon receiving a confirmation signal from the colonists of Pioneer 1, the second colony ship, Pioneer 2, leaves Coral bound for Ragol. After Pioneer 2 enters orbit around Ragol, they attempt to make contact with the Central Dome. The moment that they attempt to open transmissions, a gigantic explosion erupts on the planet's surface. All communication with the Central Dome is cut off. With a growing sense of danger and unease, the Principal orders Hunters (the players) to visit the surface and investigate the situation.

CORAL TO RAGOL TIMELINE
A.U.W. 3060 ^[/color] Endless warring on the homeworld of Coral is so devastating to the environment, it becomes uninhabitable. The Alliance of Nations, a group of 10 of the most powerful nations on Coral, bands together to plan a mass exodus to another planet. The search for a suitable world begins, and an intricate plan known as the Pioneer Project are is mapped out to construct a hyperspace vessel to transport colonists to their new home. to this new world.
A.U.W. 3068 Out of the countless unmanned probes sent into space to search for a n inhabitable suitable new world to colonize, only one finds a suitable makes a match. The Alliance of Nations names this new world "Ragol" and the construction of the first of the colonization vessel s, Pioneer 1, begins. The main purpose of the maiden voyage of Pioneer I is research and planetary trailblazing.
A.U.W. 3076 Pioneer 1 takes off for Planet Ragol.
A.U.W. 3077 Pioneer 1 lands on Ragol. The scientific research team investigates the planet's surface, and deems it to be suitable for colonization. Construction begins on the preliminary habitat foundation, and the Central Dome is set up as the headquarters for the budding colony. Rico Tyrell is assigned to the Surface Exploration Team , which is (in charge of survival planning and terraforming opportunities ).
A.U.W. 3081 The Alliance of Nation's power base continues to weaken due to the unending wartime carnage on Coral.
A.U.W. 3082 Construction of the Central Dome and fortification of the surrounding colony area are completed. The colonists contact the homeworld, and send the message for to clear the second colony ship to head out for Ragol. Also during this year, Heathcliff Flowen, the Deputy Commander of Pioneer 1's military forces, mysteriously disappears.
A.U.W. 3083 Upon receiving the transmission from Pioneer 1, Pioneer 2 is launched for Ragol. An alarming number of violent outbursts increases near the Central Dome amongst the local wildlife, including new forms that are unknown to homeworld scientists. Rico Tyrell and her companions are the first to form the Hunters, a self-defense group that seeks to find the cause of these incidents and to ensure the safety of the colonists.
A.U.W. 3084 Pioneer 2 enters orbit around Planet Ragol. Just as the ship makes contact with the Central Dome, however, an enormous explosion occurs within the Central Dome itself.
A.U.W. 3084 v After teleporters are installed on the planet's surface, the Principal sends the first round of Hunters to investigate the surface of Ragol.

PSO TERMINOLOGY
Pioneer Project This is the name given to the large-scale emigration project devised by the people of the planet Coral when it was learned that their planet's ecosystem was collapsing.
The project began with the search for a suitable planet to colonize. Out of countless unmanned probes that were sent into the reaches of space, only one responded with the signal of having discovered such a planet. This planet was dubbed "Ragol. After the discovery of Ragol, work quickly went into the production of the hyperspace colony vessel set to lead the colonization effort, Pioneer 1. Due to the high number of unknown factors surrounding this new world, a well-equipped military presence and a number of highly-skilled professionals were sent to accompany the ship's immigrant crew. The war hero Heathcliff Flowen was assigned on board, as was the renowned genetic engineer Dr. Osto Hyle. Also aboard the ship was hunter and scientist "Red Ring" Rico Tyrell. This primary group was hand-picked by governmental authorities to set up a strong presence on this new world.
Pioneer 1 was launched in AUW 3076. When it arrived at Ragol, the crew began construction on the Central Dome, set to be the home base of the fledgling colony and serve as the command center for task forces securing the surrounding area for the second wave of settlers. Seven years later, construction of the Central Dome was complete. With that, clearance was given for the second colony ship, Pioneer 2, to make its way to the planet.
Photon
In ages long past, mankind performed experiments to study "ether," a substance that was believed to be an intrinsic element that existed in empty space.
It was eventually discovered that "Photons" in the atmosphere were responsible for binding the universe together. In other words, all forms of energy in the atmosphere could be grouped together to form "Photons." One of the most revolutionary devices in the history of mankind was the Photon Generator, which was able to take raw atmospheric energy and reduce it down to its particulate nature in order to extract Photons. As research continued, more and more uses were found for the practical application of Photon energy. It was soon discovered that using certain minerals as the source for Photons made it possible to harness this energy to create Photon weapons.
This new energy source was a double-edged sword: Photon energy had saved the world from its energy crisis and spurred on scientific advancement, yet it also doomed the nations of the world into falling into another arms race in the name of war and self-defense.
Meseta
Currency on Coral and Pioneer 2.
Medical Center
Hospital on Pioneer 2. The place to go when you need to remove abnormal statuses and to restore your HP or TP (Technique Points--similar to MP).
Tekker Booth
When a character finds an item left behind in a box or by an enemy, they can take it to the Tekker to get the item appraised. In the story, tekkers will probably not play a role.
Check Room
This is the place where charatcers can deposit or take their Meseta, Weapons, Armors, Shields and Items.
Teleporters
There is a large, main teleporter located on Pioneer 2, inbetween the Hunters Guild and the Medical Center. it is used to travel back and forth from Pioneer 2 to the surface of Ragol. There are other, smaller teleporter located throughout Ragol, such as Warp teleporters, which move you to a different spot in the same area, or much larger, red ones that lead to Boss arenas.
Technique
Often referred to as "Techs", these are the base for TP, or, Technique Points. There are a variety of different technque types that can be used in different ways, such as to attack enemies, recover HP, teleport to Pioneer 2, etc. Attack Techniques will hit targeted enemies. Recovery Techniques can heal a player, or remove abnormal status.
MAG
Every character has a mysterious little protector unit called a MAG, floating above, or behind the charcters shoulders. By feeding the MAG, it will grow and evolve, and eventually learn an attack technique called a Photon Blast that can be utilized in battle. There are several different kinds of MAGs and several different Photon Blasts.
Where the team goes on Ragol in the story, there are no teleporters. Also, the Main Teleporter on Pioneer 2, has been deactivated. The only means for the team to return, is by Ryuker and by telepipe.
D-Factor
On Coral, one of the most rapidly-advancing areas of scientific research was Photon Technology.
One event that accelerated the development was a meteor impact, which caused a tremendous earthquake. Cells of previously-undiscovered lifeforms were detected on the surface of the meteor, and from those cells, a previously-undiscovered form of energy was detected. This unexplainable phenomenon was termed the "D-Factor." The D-Factor bore a striking resemblance to the high-technology Photons that mankind had developed. Renowned and esteemed scientists began research on this energy signature, thinking that it could shed some light into unlocking the secrets of Photon energy. The Photons that were produced by artificial means had no "will" to them, and were simply pure energy. The D-Factor, however, did seem to have a sort of "will," as if its very nature were urging it to evolve into something else.
The most stunning property of D-Factor’s effects on natural and artificial lifeforms alike was its ability to infect, fuse, divide, transmit, and interfere with functions. Despite competition between varying organizations in their research, mankind's unlocking the secrets of the D-Factor is still far off. "Emotional AI" was developed for the expressed purpose of controlling the D-Factor; lifeforms that become infected with the D-Factor are known as D-Cellular Lifeforms.
MOTHER Project
Photon Technology had become indispensable in ensuring the future of the human race, and yet science itself had not been responsible for these advances.
The meteor impact on Coral... The discovery of the D-Cells on the meteor... The discovery of the D-Factor within those cells, which so resembled Photons...Science demanded, "We must investigate these D-Cells from the meteor if ever we are to find the true nature of Photon Energy!" And so, renowned and esteemed scientists began research on this energy signature, thinking that it could shed some light into unlocking the secrets of Photon Energy. The first result was the joint creation of the two genius scientists Professor Osto Hyle and Professor Jean-Carlo Montague: the Mag. That was only a starting point in their research; they continued their work and began to develop and create things like Androids, and the artificial lifeforms known as Newmans. The full body of their experiments, research, and development plans is known as the MOTHER Project.
However, as might be expected, the varying expectations of different factions (the government, the military, scientific institutions) were mixed. Unlocking the secrets of Photon Energy and developing new artificial lifeforms could conceivably lead to world domination. Under the surface, while each group continues to vie with one another, struggling for true control, things go deeper than anyone had ever expected. The people of Coral did not choose Ragol by chance. Something on Ragol chose them…

UPDATE FOR ALL MAJOR TEAM PLAYERS I've decided to add a few more things to the story. Everyone will have an "inner struggle" that they will have to deal with in order to grow and strengthen the bond that character has with the rest of the party.
I've already had my ideas in mind and written most of them down, but you can give me ideas for your character too. If you have something you want to overcome or deal with, post it here or PM me about it. Otherwise, I'm sticking you with what I've already done. I think I did a good job for the most part, as everyone pretty much deals with something different.
I have all but one done. And I cant think of one for that person, but I'll post the general ideas I have, but I'm not listing the character that I have it in mind for. The incident in which they deal with these struggles comes from a scene in which Professor J has seperated the team. These are false illusions shown to shred their morale and attempt to break them, so they cannot continue on. The first section, labelled in bold is actually the title that will be inserted into the book. ^.^
1- The hatred of a friend Being left alone once again, this character returns to Ragol to find their best friend is no longer right beside them. A physical representation of their friendship lies broken before the character.
2- A want to belong A heated spar with an old friend ends in defeat. The character is told they are weak because they lack what others like them have. This will lead the character to mercilessly slaughter all the androids on Pioneer 2.
3- Loss of Life False accusations and imprisonment are all that can be seen for this highly respected team member. Years will pass, and upon their release, social shun of the hunter who had been on the path to becoming a legend, causes them to seek permenant refuge on Ragol.
4- Repetition Sees a loved one die over and over. Each time, it is a different and more gruesome death than the last. This character retires due to their alleged inablility to save the other person.
5- Silent Witness This person is left powerless as the entire team is slain before them. The team member is allowed to live, and the nightmare plagues this team member until their own demise from grief.
6- Self-blame and Abandonment The team leaves this member behind, never looking back. The constant reminder of a death is constantly following them. This person blames themself for the death, as does the team and the citizens of Ragol. Because of this, the member commits suicide.
7- Vision of Corruption The team makes it to their final battle, but they have greatly misjudged the power of their foe. This team member takes a risk to defeat the great evil, but the price is the lives of the other team members. After seeing their mutilated bodies from an accident they caused, this member suffers severe mental trauma and is later seen locked away in an institution.

[glow=limegreen,2,300]IMPORTANT UPDATE[/glow]
I have begun to create the last scene. I need the main team: Axel, Zophar, Cranberry, Kenshin, Dragin and Shinjo to pick out ONE non-photon weapon. No one can use the same thing. Please post it below or PM it to me.
ALSO: Cranberry, Zophar, Axel, Shinjo and Dragin....I need for you guys to pick out ARMOR. No, not the in-game stuff. I mean REAL old-school armor. I have a good reason for this. (I already did something special for Kenshin) Please choose something that looks good and that suits you. I can draw just about anything, so dont worry about complexity. This is VERY important.
[glow=blue,2,300]Non-Photon Weapons Selected:[/glow]
Kamui Agito (1977) Lame D'Argent Sange & Yasha Caduceus Zanba
[glow=blue,2,300]Armors I've received:[/glow] Phoenix Zophar DraginHiku Axel Kenshin (working on it now)

This is a list of ALL the support characters in the book. This is pretty much just for other people who want to write their own support character profile.
Colin Tyrell Natasha Milarose Rico Tyrell Heathcliff Flowen Zoke Miyama Donoph Baz Alicia Baz Dr. Osto Hyle Solinus Liore Illana Liore Professor Darius J Aria Kieran Surge Hazuka Debaser Smuribooma Raine Glory Fewmitz Dark Force Luna Skyes (LunaChild) Arlena Varius Marina (Mahreina Fir) Rox Endu James Kelly Amethyst Divinity Azrael Kyo Cross Raptor Evighten Zael Zeke Ashimar Amanda (Hildeblue) Flawlesszero AbsoluteZero D0s
Also, generally, we are using last names for the characters, but if you can't think of one, its no problem ^.^
