I've felt like writing lately so I started up a little fanfic of my own, don't know how much I'll get into it but I felt like posting my first chapter for the heck of it. Either way this is this a rough draft so if I continue it I'll make changes later XD Either way let me know what you think.
Inside the Mind Chapter 1:
Mai-Rin Dray
Panic ensued throughout the Guardian Colony, in the mist of the grand ceremony commemorating the centennial of the Gurhal System's Tripartite Treaty; a disaster struck the Guardian Colony by the mysterious lifeform SEED.
A young newman woman ran down the dark corridor, her features covered by the shadows of the darken corridor separated from everyone, with little or not chance of survival all she could do was run. She reached an open corridor, but her hopes once again dimmed when she saw the doorways were completely damaged, her last hope of escape was over. She turned quickly to see her pursuers, SEED life forms, at least a dozen or more. She backed up in a panic as they surrounded her, everything grew fuzzy and the imagine fade as a voice emerges.
“Wake up Mai-Rin Dray! It’s time to wake up,” The woman in the bed sat up slowly glancing towards the noise, her rather noisy and bossy Partner Machinery, Eliza. She was a 430-model, Range type. Much like the others of her variety she was rather self-absorbed at times, but then again cooperative when the time was right. The woman groaned, “What do you want Eliza, I’m trying to sleep here!?”
Eliza growled at her master slightly, “Don’t get mad at me, you start your Field Training today, I figured you might want to make yourself look presentable instead of showing up late and a mess like you always do!”
The woman groaned and got out of bed, “Why don’t you go chew on a monomate or something.” She groaned at her partner machinery before standing before the small mirror near her desk, she took a good look of herself. She appeared to be a cast with pale skin, though she was an odd one at that. Most of her fellow casts looked down on her for her odd emotional outbursts and odd personality. She put her hands through her shoulder length dark purplish hair groaning a little, “Who said having human style head-part is easy. Lousy tangled hair…” She worked out the tangles before picking up a pair of rectangular glasses and set them in front of her dark blue eyes. She stretched a bit, moving to the dressing room to change her parts out, “What’s on the schedule today anyway Eliza?”
Eliza stood outside the door, “Only your field training, you’ve got to be at the Guardian Headquarters in twenty minutes to meet your instructor.”
Mai stepped out of the Dressing room, in purple parts, built from Epicarel Arms, Gimmnael Body, and Elacial Legs. “Any clue on who my instructor is?”
Eliza shook her head, “Nope, they don’t tend to release that information to the network.”
Mai nods some, “Okay I guess I should check my equipment and I should be good to go.” Mai picked up her Nanotracer and activating it forming her equipment on the bed, “Let’s see Cane with Ramegid and Resta, Rayharod with Barta spells, Compadri with Insel-sou, and Kikami with Reisei-shiki. I think I’m good.”
Eliza groans, “Your goggles and shieldline I still have them. And I still don’t get why you spend so much time on Techinques, you’re a cast.” Eliza added those items to her bed along side her weapons.
Mai blinks, “Honsetly, I’ve felt more comfortable with techniques then other forms of attack.” She packages her equipment back into her Nanotracer placing the Naontracer in its place. “Well Eliza, keep watch over things while I’m gone.”
Eliza stopped her a moment, “Don’t forget my partner card don’t hesitated to contact me if something goes wrong.”
Mai just smiled, “Got it and don’t worry too much about me.” Mai left the Guardians Barracks coming to the view of the fountain in the center of the colony’s first floor she smiled to herself, she was ready for today more then she’d ever be. Of course showing such excitement was very strange to people that saw her, particularly among other casts. Mai approached the elevator humming quietly as it opened up a black-haired female newman pushed her out of her way, Mai didn’t even have time to get a good look at her.
“Get out of my way sheet metal!” The girl exclaimed as she pushed Mai causing her to drop her glasses, then the newman dashed off.
Mai huffs, “How rude! I thought Newman were suppose to be a polite race.” Mai wondered momentary what that was about as she picked up her glasses. Mai frowns, “She bend the frame,” She sighed, “Oh well, it’s not bad and I can fix it later.” She grinned; she wasn’t going to let some rude newman get to her today. She took the elevator to the Spaceport on the fourth floor making her way toward the entrance to the guardian’s headquarters.
It had been around year since the confinement system had been activate and much of the SEED had disappeared, however the mess left behind by the SEED and it’s effects were still present and the call for Guardians was greater then ever. Oddly, Mai never really knew what motivated her to become a guardian, then again she didn’t think too hard on things, she only had memory up to ten months prior, she had been told something happened to her memory at the time during the SEED attack during the ceremony, she never has questioned it nor cared about it that it mattered to her. She had an extreme dislike for SEED more so then most people, why was even harder to say, she didn’t know.
She tap her forehead a few times, “ Bah, I’m getting distracted time to get moving for a change” She heading up to the headquarters, someone a short distance away had been observing her while she was standing there. The person quickly disappeared as Mai went inside.
